Quick Pick:
The Adjustment Bureau
Rating:
PG-13
Reason for the Rating:
Brief strong language, some sexuality, and a violent image.
Family Fans Rating:
B+
Quick Summary:
The Adjustment Bureau is billed as a "romantic thriller" and it does
deliver (mostly) in that regard. But the real thrill of this Philip
K. Dick short story adaptation lies in its unique exploration of
divine sovereignty and human free will. Supernatural beings (angels
perhaps?) work to prevent two young lovers from spending their lives
together, but neither heaven nor earth can them apart
forever...can they? An interesting and thought-provoking
story, parents and teens can enjoy this one together - and talk about
it afterward. The MPAA rating covers mild PG-13 elements only (one
use of the F-word, implied extra-marital sex, and mild violence).
