Thanks for thinking of Walking Carnival as a potential publishing partner for your book. A few things you should know:
If you are an author who is not represented by a reputable literary agency, we would encourage you to secure representation before approaching Walking Carnival with your book. You can find a near-exhaustive list of agencies in the annual reference book, Guide to Literary Agents (Writer's Digest Books).
You may also consider contacting our affiliated company, Nappaland Literary Agency, for possible representation. Find their submission guidelines at: www.NappalandLiterary.com.
Walking Carnival is only interested in considering stellar book proposals in the categories of:
• Adult Fiction
• Children's Fiction
• Family/Relationships
• Health
• Inspirational Non-Fiction
• Self-Help
• Theology
• Young Adult Fiction
...children’s picture books, memoirs, screenplays, poetry, or anything about cats.
Walking Carnival will not consider anything in any of these categories. Any queries in this regard will be automatically deleted. No exceptions.
Nearly everything we publish is a works-for-hire project, meaning we buy all rights up front and do not pay royalties for any book. If you are not comfortable with that kind of agreement, we encourage you to pursue publication with a royalty-paying press instead of Walking Carnival.
If you are represented by a reputable literary agency and would
like to have your book considered for publication by Walking
Carnival, have your agent send a query letter ONLY to:
hello
[at] walkingcarnival [dot] com.
Please note: If you are an un-agented author and you send a query to this email address, it will be automatically deleted.
Thank you!
