Submission Guidelines
What You Need to Know if You Want to Write
for FamilyFans.com
Interested in Writing for
FamilyFans.com?
If so, then there are a few things you should know:
-
FamilyFans.com is a non-commercial magazine, fully funded by
an ongoing grant from Nappaland Communications Inc.
-
Because this is a non-commercial publication, FamilyFans.com
pays only a modest amount for content contributions to this e-magazine.
-
In spite of the low pay,
our editors continue to demand the highest quality of writing for all
articles and reviews in our magazine. Revisions are often necessary. And a
positive, cheerful attitude is a must.
If above information hasn't scared you away yet, and you still
think you've got something worthwhile to contribute to the FamilyFans.com
publication, then we'll be happy to consider your submission. Please note:
-
All submissions MUST be queried first. We will automatically
delete any full manuscripts that were not queried. And, of course, NEVER
send us an article as a file attachment as we will never download a file
from someone we don't know.
-
We are looking primarily for creative, fun ideas for
families.
-
Feature articles should be helpful, entertaining, and
focused on helping parents in some way. They should not be didactic,
preachy, or boring.
-
If you want to write product reviews, be aware that those
are done by assignment only. You'll have to show sample reviews in your
chosen category (Movies, Books, Comics, DVD, Music) and then wait for an
assignment to submit. FamilyFans.com also does not pay for any expenses, so
you'll have to acquire your own movie passes, books, comics, etc. in order
to review them in this e-magazine.
-
To send a query, use our Contact
Us page. Tell us about yourself and to give a brief summary of your article
and/or product review interest. Be sure to include your email address so we
can contact you if we like your query.
-
If we are interested in seeing more, we will contact you via
email. If we opt not to publish your article or review, then you just won't
hear from us. If you haven't received an email response to your query within
30 days, it means we've decided not to publish your submission (sorry!).
PLEASE DO NOT SEND MULTIPLE QUERIES OR REQUESTS FOR UPDATES FOR THE SAME
ARTICLE / REVIEW. If we want to publish, you'll hear from us within 30 days.
If not, you won't hear from us. Sounds mean, we know, but the volume of
submissions we receive require us to budget our time wisely, and sending out
gobs of rejection letters just isn't the way we want to spend our days.
Still interested in working with those crabby, demanding, cheap
folks at FamilyFans.com? J
If so, then you've got guts.
If you've got the talent to match, then we can't wait to hear
from you. Our Contact Us page awaits
you.
Blessings!
