This is a happy, pop music
CD that is full of fun songs and catchy lyrics.
When I first received this
album, I was ecstatic because I had heard how great it is. It wasn’t a lie
either; this one is definitely a keeper. Jessie Daniels absolutely delivered
with and amazing CD that I just can’t stop listening to.
With its first song "The
Noise", and its upbeat lyrics about trying to hear God through all of the
daily activities, school, sports, and anything else that happens to block out
His voice. Just by reading through the lyrics I was completely inspired. It
amazed me how on fire for God someone can be, and what really hit me is that she
is 18, almost my age and is totally wanting so much more out of life. It made me
want to be a lot more like her.
In the song "Hold Me
Now,"
Jesse makes her own brand of pop/worship by realizing how God is always
there and holding on tightly to each of us. In "Hello/Goodbye" she explains
the feeling of falling back into temptation or bad relationships and how she
just has to say “Hello/Goodbye” to those kinds of things. This album, as a
whole, was really a positive experience for me, and that made definitely worth
keeping in my collection.
Probably the only real
downer about this CD is that it doesn’t actually release until June 6. (Yep, I
got my copy early!) J
Also, although this album has great songs, some of them could be considered
repetitive because of the musical and lyrical similarities. One more thing that
some might not like is that this CD ends way too fast and you have to listen to
it a couple times for it to really sink in.
Still, overall this is a
great album to buy for anyone looking for Christian pop alternatives to singers
like Avril Lavigne or Ashlee Simpson. Terrific buy!
