First of all, you have to have a sense of humor and find silly things immensely funny.

That said, this Soundtrack to the online video hit, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, is well worth every cent, and captures the essence of the motion picture.

In case you've been living on Mars and haven't heard about it, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a 45 minute, online mini-movie put out by Joss Whedon (creator of TV hits like Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The film follows the exploits of the evil Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris), and his dreams to win over the beautiful Penny (Felicia Day) who dates the hero Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion). Adventures and singing ensue.

Now, I'm not usually a musical fan, but I was really impressed with the singing done by the actors on this soundtrack because sometimes when actors have to sing for a part, it isn’t very good. My favorite song here is “My Eyes.” It is a two-sided song featuring Dr. Horrible and Penny describing the same situation from different perspectives. From one point of view, things are getting worse and worse, but to the other person, things are getting better and better! Another fun song is “Everyone’s A Hero,” a goofy little tune sung by Captain Hammer that further reveals his shallow side.

There was really nothing I didn't enjoy about this soundtrack, except that it doesn’t have the visual aid of the actual show. Also, it is just too darn short. I wanted it to go on for so much longer.
