Invade My Soul

By The Tree / Fervent Records

When a group can sell over 30,000 copies of their independently created CD, they must be doing something right. With their major-label debut, Invade My Soul (from newly-formed Fervent Records), By The Tree shows why so many people snapped up their previous indie album.

Fusing pop, rock, and worship styles akin to Jars of Clay or SonicFlood, By The Tree exhibits a polished, ear-pleasing sound. Highlights on this album are easy to find.  “Walk” is an infectious melody with string accents and a gentle invitation to experience Gods peace. “Reveal” features a shower of guitars in a praise chorus that’s reminiscent of Creed. Other highlights include the orchestral pop of  “Wonderful Again,” and the haunting “Disillusioned Man.”

Overall, Invade My Soul is a solid debut, for both the band and Fervent Records. Look for By The Tree to develop a strong—and loyal—fan base among buyers of modern praise and pop/rock music.
