26 Letters

Ben Glover / Word Records

In case you were wondering, all the buzz surrounding 26 Letters—the debut release of hot new talent, Ben Glover—is actually justified. His brand of guitar-based, lyrically thoughtful, hook-heavy pop is reminiscent of artists like Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith, yet exhibits a maturity not often found in younger musicians.

Glover wastes no time in showcasing his talent on this CD, starting off with the awe-inspiring, upbeat title track (co-written with Grammy winner, Wayne Kirkpatrick). With clean, crisp guitars and passionate, accessible vocals, this radio-friendly tune practically jumps off the disc to proclaim God’s unimaginable greatness. The acoustic tribute to Glover’s father, “The Man I Want to Be” is also a winner, with heartfelt lyrics and an engaging melody. Other highlights include the jazzy/rock ode to temptation, “Dancing with Cactus” and the quietly worshipful, “All Comes Down.”

In short, 26 Letters is a stellar debut release from a guy who seems destined for greatness. Recommend Glover’s CD with confidence to pop fans of all ages.
