Analogue
/ Worship Underground Fresh
from Campus Crusade for Christ events, and sporting a modern worship style akin
to groups like SonicFlood, the five-member band, Analogue, has now arrived with
a debut album, Fuel. Originally featured as a bonus track on the WoW
Worship Green album, the title song reveals what this band can do. Packed
with a mesmerizing, raw passion and loud guitars, this performance immediately
captures the listener’s attention and doesn’t let go until the last note
fades away. The cover of “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord” is also
compelling, with Madonna-style sound cutouts, creative effects, unique
harmonies, and a slow-burning fury that builds nicely to the end. Unfortunately,
Fuel doesn’t always live up to Analogue’s obvious talent,
particularly in forgettable moments like the meandering Bob Dylan imitation,
“Falling from the Sky.” Still, expect teens and college students to happily
overlook these shortcomings in favor of the overall worship experience embodied
in this CD. —Mike
